Which mode is most commonly used for voice communications on frequencies of 14 MHz or higher?

Why Amateur SSB practice follows a long-standing convention: lower sideband is used on 160, 80/75 and 40 meters, while upper sideband is used on 20 meters (14 MHz) and every band above it, including 60 meters and all VHF/UHF SSB. There is no technical reason one sideband works better; it is simply the operating custom so everyone's audio is intelligible to everyone else. Modern radios switch automatically at the band edge, but you should know the dividing line yourself.
Watch out Lower sideband is the right answer only below 10 MHz, on 160, 80/75 and 40 meters; the other two choices are not standard amateur voice modes (all SSB has a suppressed carrier, and double sideband is essentially unused AM-style transmission).
Below 10 MHz go Low (LSB), 14 MHz and Up go Upper (USB).
