What is the normal term for an FCC-issued amateur radio license?

Why Under 97.25 an amateur license grant runs for ten years from the date of grant or renewal. You renew within 90 days of expiration, and if you miss it there is a two-year grace period during which you may reinstate the license but may not transmit. Vanity call sign grants follow the same ten-year term.
Watch out "Life" is tempting because there is no re-testing when you renew, but the FCC still requires periodic renewal to keep the license and your address current in the database.
