What is the unit of capacitance?

  1. AFarad
  2. BOhm
  3. CVolt
  4. DHenry
Why Capacitance is the ability of a component to store energy in an electric field, and it is measured in farads, named for Michael Faraday. One farad means one coulomb of charge stored per volt applied, which is a huge amount, so practical parts are rated in microfarads (uF) or picofarads (pF).
Watch out The henry is the unit of inductance, the ohm measures resistance or impedance, and the volt measures electrical potential difference.
Capacitor = Farad (Faraday), Inductor = Henry (Joseph Henry). Match the C and the L to their inventors.
